English Summer School in Bath

Our English language holiday courses are designed to help you improve your English, make friends from around the world, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Each morning you will study English, focusing on speaking English, listening, reading and writing. In the afternoon and evenings there is a busy programme of cultural excursions, sports and social activities.

When is the English Language Summer School?Summer School runs from late June to early September.
Who can attend?The course is open to individuals and groups.
What is in the activity programme?You have 3 hours of English lessons every weekday morning. On your first day, you'll take a test so that we can put you into the best class for you. We'll also make sure you know about the school and keeping safe while you are on the course. In the afternoon there are sports and activities. On Thursday afternoon there is a half-day trip, and on Saturday a full-day trip. There is a typical programme above, but please ask us for a programme for the weeks you plan to book.
How old do I have to be?

The course is for students aged 12 - 16, although younger students can attend if they are suitably supervised.

You are placed in classes according to ability and age:

Parents with Children aged 5-11 (subject to demand)

Junior, ages 12-15

Young Adults, age 16-17

English Summer School AccommodationYou stay with a host family, who provide you with breakfast, a packed lunch, and an evening meal. If you have your own accommodation - you are staying with friemds or family - then that's fine as well.

As well as host family accommodation, hostel accommodation is also available for groups of students.

Where is the Summer School held?The school is run at two centres - our city-centre school and Royal High School - please ask when you make your booking and we will confirm the location.

English Spring SchoolThis course is run for closed groups of students, for up to two weeks over the Easter break.
English Summer SchoolThe Summer School programme is open to individuals and groups. It runs from late June to early September.
English Autumn School / English Winter SchoolThis course is run for closed groups of students, for up to two weeks.
Trinity GESE course A 3-week programme of tuition and activities working towards the Trinity GESE exams, designed for students whose current level is CEFR B1 or above.
